AGRAFA is an international design conference and design review organized by the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice. Held biennially, it brings together designers, researchers, educators, and students, serving as a significant international forum that connects diverse perspectives across disciplines and generations of designers.
About the project
The visual identity for AGRAFA’24 was created responding to the theme of Reflection. We turned the conference logo into a simple mascot to build an engaging visual language that balanced humor with thoughtful commentary.
We created interactive posters, installations, and simple activities that encouraged participants to add their own inputs – turning the identity into a collaborative space for reflection.
Across seven months, the project evolved organically. The final identity captures the feeling of a design process and fosters a shared sense of engagement around the conference.
This poster is a mirror
We used posters as a simple tool for Reflection. Each piece invited viewers to react, add their own thoughts, or map their experiences directly onto the surface. Through handwritten notes and stickers, the posters became collective records of how the design community sees itself, turning a static medium into an open, evolving conversation.
Treat this poster as a mirror. Draw yourself!
Show us what you do! Add a sticker. (left: science, top: design, right: art)
This or that? Add a sticker. (left: digital, right: traditional techniques)
Think of this poster as a reflection of yourself. What's on your mind?
Engaging social media communication
Social media communication was built around a light, humorous narrative led by the conference mascot. Playful posts encouraged discussion and reflection, turning promotion into an ongoing conversation about design practice rather than a one-way announcement.
Design review – a playful exhibition
The design review was conceived as a playful, community-driven exhibition. Murals created an informal atmosphere, while the involvement of student volunteers from the Academy helped build a shared, hands-on experience within the exhibition space.
