About the project
How do creatives think about AI? is a research-based design project exploring how creatives perceive AI and its growing role in creative work. The study investigates both optimism and anxiety surrounding automation, authorship, and the future of creativity.
The research combined surveys, in-depth interviews with students from art and design schools, and an interactive data-collection tool that allowed participants to physically engage with the study by placing stickers on a shared diagram. The collected data was analyzed and translated into a multi-layered information design system that reveals tensions, contradictions, and emerging patterns in contemporary creative thinking.
The process
1. Research – we created a questionnaire to gauge perceptions and attitudes towards AI.
2. Interviews – we carried out in-depth interviews to gain a deeper insight into the issue.
3. Creating an interactive element – we have created an interactive form of a diagram, where, by sticking stickers on, people can take part in the survey.
4. Data visualization – we analyzed the results and have created a visualization that shows the complexity of the issue in a clear and concise way.
