About the project
Popular Dynamics is an academic research platform connecting scholars and practitioners of popular culture in Eastern and East-Central Europe. The project explores the intersections of politics, society, and popular culture through a combination of critical texts and visual narratives.
The illustrations function as conceptual commentaries, drawing on comic-inspired speech bubbles and explosive motifs to reflect tensions, contradictions, and dynamics shaping the region’s socio-political landscape.

Potential Solidarities
In 2025, I designed an additional illustration for the Potential Solidarities conference, maintaining the bold, comic-inspired and abstract visual language of Popular Dynamics. This time, the imagery shifted its focus toward values of solidarity, interdependence, and collective agency, reinterpreting the project’s visual tension in the context of political engagement and shared responsibility.
